April 2011 :: Bookkeeper/Analyst

Reliable Networks is seeking a part-time bookkeeper/analyst to support our consistently growing business in which financial reporting and analysis has played a key role in our success. We are as careful and proactive about financial reporting as we are with maintenance of our clients’ systems. We have for example written custom middleware which integrates our hosted services offerings metrics directly with our accounting system to automate invoicing, and we expect to engage software developers to code additional middleware as our portfolio of hosted services offerings continues to expand.

The successful candidate will:

  1. Have excellent oral and written communications skills and solid computer skills on both Windows and Macs.
  2. Have extensive experience with QuickBooks’ advanced features, including creating custom reports, Classes, Time Tracking, Memorized Transactions, Lists, Templates, Budgets etc. as well as strong Excel skills.
  3. Be a proactive, self-starting problem solver with a strong client-service attitude.
  4. Work well within our collegial, highly professional culture that supports clients’ mission-critical systems 24 x 7 x 365.
  5. Have completed a higher education degree in Finance/Accounting with a minimum of five years’ field experience, or have equivalent work experience.

An understanding of virtualization, Linux, Microsoft Server technologies, complex networking environments and systems management and monitoring is a plus but not a requirement.  Previous experience working with software developers on accounting system customizations is a strong plus.

Interested candidates may apply by sending their resume under a cover letter by regular mail or by email to the address below.  In your cover letter, we ask at a minimum that you describe how you solved one or more complex financial problems.  Candidates submitting resumes without a cover letter will not be considered.  Please direct all communications regarding this position to:

Why Reliable Networks?

Our clients rely on us to provide a higher level of professional service to support their mission-critical applications and infrastructure. They expect us to help them proactively manage technology risk, advise them on appropriate levels of technology investment and show them how to better leverage their existing investments in technology. Unlike other technology providers, we have no dedicated sales staff nor do we act as a reseller.  Consequently, our client interactions and processes are consultative, much like that of a trusted financial or legal advisor. That's why excellent communications skills and a nose for business decision making are just as important at Reliable Networks as a passion for technology craftwork.
